How to Find Your Chiron Sign: Chiron Sign Dates 1920 to 2060

Enter your birth date and place in the free birth chart and look for the orange ⚷ glyph labelled Chiron in the list under the wheel. That row gives Chiron's degree, minutes and sign symbol. A small red R beside it means Chiron was retrograde when you were born.

You do not need a birth time to get the sign. Chiron moves so slowly that the date settles it for nearly everyone, and the table below lists every sign change the calculator knows about. You do need a time for the house.

Reading the Chiron row

A typical row reads something like ⚷ Chiron 14°25' ♌. That is 14 degrees and 25 minutes of Leo. Each sign spans 30 degrees, so 0° is the very start of a sign and 29° is the very end.

On the wheel itself, Chiron's glyph sits in the ring of planets, with a short coloured tick on the inner circle marking its exact longitude. If several bodies are crowded together, the glyphs are spread apart so they stay readable; the tick still shows the true spot. A ℞ under the glyph is the same retrograde flag as the R in the list.

Lines across the middle of the wheel are aspects. If one runs from Chiron to another body, the two are in one of the five major aspects within the standard orbs, the same orbs every planet uses. Chiron gets no special allowance either way.

When the house appears, and when it does not

With a birth time, the wheel shows twelve numbered house sections, with ASC, DC, MC and IC marked at the angles. Chiron's house is the numbered section its glyph and tick fall in. If the tick sits very close to a house line, a few minutes' error in the birth time could move it across, so treat that house reading as provisional.

Without a birth time, there are no houses at all, and the chart says so in a banner. Chiron's sign and degree are still shown, worked out from an internal noon reference that is never presented as your birth time. What a chart without a birth time can still tell you explains the rest of that display.

Born before 1920 or after 2060? Chiron will be missing from both the wheel and the list, and a line under the chart reads "Calculation coverage" followed by a note that Chiron is not included and the supported years. The calculator leaves it out rather than guess.

Chiron sign dates, 1920 to 2060

These dates come from the same Chiron table the calculator uses. They are in Universal Time (UT), so near a change your local date may differ by one day. Chiron often crosses a sign boundary, turns retrograde, slips back, and crosses again months later. That is why a single sign can appear in two or three separate stretches.

Chiron was already in Aries when the supported range begins on 1 January 1920, and it is still in Aquarius when the range ends on 31 December 2060.

Using the table without tripping up

Each date in the table is the day Chiron crosses into the next sign. If your birthday is one of those dates, or a day either side, run the chart with your birth time. The hour can decide it.

Do not rely on a list that gives a single year per sign. In 1926, 1976 and again in 2026, Chiron spent only a few summer months in Taurus before sliding back into Aries for the winter. Someone born in August 1976 has Chiron in Taurus; someone born in December 1976 has it in Aries. The October 2026 Sun-Chiron opposition falls in that second Aries stretch, after Chiron's summer in Taurus. During that summer, on 12 August 2026, Mars at 0°43' Cancer was sextile Chiron at 0°49' Taurus; Mars sextile Chiron has the details. The same trap catches slow planets too, as slow-planet sign changes and birth years shows for Jupiter through Pluto.

Other apps may disagree by a day near a boundary. Small differences in how Chiron's orbit is modelled can shift a crossing by hours. Away from the edges, published ephemerides agree on the sign.

Chiron at 0° or 29°

A Chiron at 29° of a sign is still in that sign. Some astrologers like to note that the next sign's mood is close, especially when Chiron was about to cross and then turned back. That is a refinement for later. Start with the sign the chart shows.
